Chinese calligraphy, painting show launched in Macao to mark handover

An exhibition of Chinese calligraphy and paintings was launched in Macao on Tuesday to mark the 7th anniversary of the region's return to the motherland.

Li Qiuping, head of the host Macao Association of the Art of Calligraphy and Painting, said the art show is to display the patriotism of Macao's artists.

The four-day exhibition features the Chinese traditional art forms of flower-and-bird paintings, insect-and-fish paintings, mountain-and-river paintings, figure paintings, running hand calligraphy and cursive script.

The Macao Association of the Art of Calligraphy and Painting, founded in 2000, hosts many art activities every year to boost the exchanges and cooperation among Chinese artists.
